Philanthropy Genomic Expression is passionate about life science and confident that science provide a significant contribution to our society. Among the problems we need to address more urgently is developing a healthcare system that promote health and provide effective care when needed.
Genomic Expression will support efforts to accomplish above by contributing to causes and activities that drives us in the right direction.
Genomic Expression will provide access to our technology for selected qualified research institutions to address the following medical problems:
The list below is not prioritized—all these problems need urgent attention.
· Autism and other childhood mental illnesses. The prevalence of autism had risen to 1 in every 150 American children, and almost 1 in 94 boys. There is no single test to identify these kids and early detection is the key to a better outcome.
· Cancer—key to cancer is early detection. Thus we are interested in applying the DATAT platform to identify markers for early detection. We are also interested in elucidating a better understanding of the mechanisms of cancer and effect of cancer treatment
· Alzheimer and Parkinson are two diseases where there are known genetic markers, however not a complete understanding of the mechanism. There are new drugs in the pipeline so we can expect better treatment options in the future. Better diagnostics are in demand for early identification and prognosis.
· Heart disease. Heart disease remains the #1 killer of men and women. There are a number of known mutations that increases a persons risk. Very few people have undergone this type of testing which is currently not complete and very expensive. There is a need for better markers for disease progression as well as a better understanding of links to other diseases such as diabetes and inflammatory diseases.
· Infectious diseases such as HIV, TB and Malaria take too many lives in the 3rd world and severely damage the economy of those countries . A better understanding on how these diseases evolve, host versus infectious agent interaction and an ability to identify all infectious agents in a patients, know as well as unknown, can enable a new level of understanding and provide valuable input to how to effectively address these diseases.
